This course is designed to improve your health and happiness by guiding and assisting you in establishing meditation and mindfulness in you daily life. Mindfulness and meditation have been shown in numerous studies to significantly reduce stress, anxiety, pain and depression by teaching us to accept and embrace the ever-changing nature of our lives. The practices we teach are beneficial in helping us live with greater ease and joy as well as being very effective at enhancing our capabilities at functioning optimally in the world, giving us a greater sense of achievement and purpose. During the course we will be delving into techniques and approaches to maximise your ability to establish these practices as daily habits so that you can come to know how the benefits accrue over time. We will guide you to find the best postures for you to adopt so that you can settle into meditation with comfort whilst retaining an alert state of presence, whether that be sitting upright on a chair, on a cushion or kneeling. We will also start to bring mindfulness into our daily activities, progressively developing these practice so that as time goes by your daily life becomes more and more infused with awareness of what is happening both within you and in the environment around you. We will explore why and how certain old habits and ways of thinking deplete our energy and sense of wellbeing and explore how we can instead realign and energise ourselves so that each of us can live the best life possible. We also provide ongoing support after the course for those who wish to continue developing their practices and enjoy the support of others on the same journey. This course is not spiritual or religious in nature and does not require you to have any beliefs; merely a willingness to pay attention to yourself and your personal development.
